Investigation into death of William Caceres Marcano, police seek witnesses
Zaandam - William Caceres Marcano was found dead in a residence on the Hogendijk in Zaandam on the night of Sunday, January 19, to Monday, January 20, 2025. The police believes that William Caceres Marcano died as a result of a crime. The investigators would like to get in touch with people who saw or spoke to him between Friday night, January 17, and Saturday, January 18.

Victim
William Caceres Marcano is from Venezuela and had recently obtained the Dutch residency status. He only recently moved into the house on the Hogendijk in Zaandam. William, also known as drag queen Alyssa, was an active and notable person. He was known and loved in the LGBTIQ+ community and had many contacts there.
Investigation
A special research team is investigating the death of William Caceres Marcano. The investigative team is examining several scenarios. Whether William's sexual orientation or work caused his death is being investigated. Detectives are asking people who know more about the possible backgrounds of his death to report to police.
